Just give the kid some pop tabs

People who know my kids, have witnessed first hand how SaSa is a little obsessed with numbers. He loves collecting things (I think that may be the Krank in him!), and loves counting things even more.

This past year, he and BB attended kindergarten and since the school was overcrowded, they moved the kindergarten kids to a nearby church. They often visited the "big school" to work with their 3rd grade buddies and other events. Sitting right in the main doors is a huge receptacle for collecting the tabs from aluminum cans. SaSa saw this and decided he needs to be on a mission to collect them for deposit during the 1st grade.

He started the weekend of branding. He had 48 collected in a box that came to an unfortunate ending - blew away in the wind. Ever since then, he has been the pop tab police. Don't you dare throw one away in his presence. At baseball last week, he was overjoyed to find one laying in the dirt. Not kidding.

Justin brought SaSa a handful of the tabs he saved from his week of working with my dad and beer drinking. SaSa immediately added them to the collection and came back to inform me that he now has 176 tabs, but would have 224 if the box hadn't blown away with his previous 48. Yes, he's FIVE!

I'll get to my point. His birthday is coming up on July 3rd and he has asked for pop (he doesn't even really DRINK pop) so that, of course, he can have the tabs. I can think of nothing he would love more than opening up a box of can tabs. That's where you come in - PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE save your tabs for the next couple weeks and send them to me?? Pretty please? You guys are great, thanks! ;o)

OMG, yes I'll save them!! How fun :)

Do me a favor and save your beer caps for BJ. That's his current obsession! The boy can identify the type of beer by the logo. We're so proud ;)

You're the best mom!!

We don't buy any cans but I'll see what I can get at work!

My Son is just like Christy's...bottle caps. It must be a boy thing huh?
