I know, I know, I have been keeping all of you in suspense for like a MONTH now! FINALLY, I can spill the beans!

I was asked if I would like to participate in Weight Watchers' Lose For Good campaign in conjunction with Action Against Hunger and Share Our Strength, which included a trip to California for the kickoff event. Of course I said YES! Charity? Weight Watchers? California? LOVE. I knew I was going to have a fabulous time the minute I spotted my very own driver near baggage claim. He had a sign with my name on it and I pretended like I was famous carried my bags for me. I gave him bonus points when he said that I don't sound like I am from North Dakota. He took it back after he heard me say a word with a "long O" in it.

My first night in L.A., I attended a wonderful dinner with the CEO of Weight Watchers, David Kirchhoff, the other five bloggers (Roni, Nancy, Rebecca, Arianne, and Esther), five oh-so-amazing WW leaders, and representatives from both charities and WW. I loved meeting each and every one of them! I have to also mention that I was super nervous, so Arianne and I decided to meet beforehand and go down together. We knew each other from blogging, but had never met. She is beautiful and SO SWEET, and it was like I had known her for ages!

The next morning, we all met in the lobby and were transported to the Arroyo Head Start Center in Altadena, where the unveiling of a beautiful Good Food Garden would be taking place.

Many of the children who attend this Head Start Center are overweight and don't have access to nutritional food on a regular basis. Not only will this garden provide the children with nutritious food, they will also learn how the food grows and will learn to take care of these plants. This knowledge will last a lifetime!

Lose For Good celebrity ambassador, Jenny McCarthy, and Share Our Strength founder, Billy Shore were in attendance and along with David Kirchhoff, helped these cute little children plant the garden.

Nina Paddock, a nutrition specialist, worked with the children to teach them about the importance of fruits and vegetables. You can tell which varieties were hits, and which ones were not so popular!

Access Hollywood stopped by to film a segment with Jenny in the garden. I met Maria Menounos AND Jenny McCarthy. And yes, they are both tiny and absolutely GORGEOUS!

At the end of the event, all of us bloggers had the opportunity to chat with Jenny for a bit, go see it here.  OMG, I sound like a total valley girl:

Thank you Weight Watchers for a fabulous time and this amazing opportunity!
