Interview with a Teenager

kane-bricks-bw

I am now the mother of a teenager. I have mixed emotions about this. I'm scared shitless, yet I'm one step closer to getting them out the door. (I kid! Sort of.)

I sat down with Kane after cake and presents for this revolutionary interview...

kanebday

Me:  How does it feel to be a teenager?
Kane:  It's not that exciting, actually.

Me:  What was the best part of being 12?
Kane:   Our (3100-mile) family trip to Arkansas and Texas.

Me:  The worst?
Kane:   Being grounded so much!

Me:  What are your hopes and dreams for age 13?
Kane:   Get my hunter's permit.

Me:  How do you think you will improve yourself?
Kane:   Not get grounded all the time. Listen better and do my chores. (good answer!)

Me:  Do you want a girlfriend this year?
Kane:  Yes.

Me:  Is there anyone in particular?
Kane:  No. Whoever I can get.
Averie:  Megan Fox?

Me:  Is there anything else you would like to add?
Kane:  Not really.  Doesn't really feel different, except now I have graduated from all kids' menus.

That is AWESOME. Love it. Especially the Megan Fox comment! Did I tell you my nephew got caught googling boobs and sex AT SCHOOL! OMG. Grasshopper has a lot to learn about sneaking online porn!
PS. Dude, your blog looks sweet? Did you do that?

I've found 13 to bea good boy year. Andrew has been pretty pleasant most of the time...other than that bossy oldest brother thing!

Happy birthday Kane!

Happy Birthday, Kane!! I love the last answer -- graduating from all kid's menus. Leave it to boys to think about food - love it!

Those are typical 13 yr old answers...I'm sure you got a couple of eye rolls in there too.

Great pics-he looks a lot like his dad in the first one.

Oh, your post is just precious. I'm sorry, kids grow up so quick (mine are all adults in their 20s) and wouldn't I love to have them back home --teenager angst and all.

Love his answers--typical teenage boy.

Wow he looks like Justin! "I've graduated from all kid's menus" That is great! I need to follow your example and start documenting some of these steps in my kids lives by quizes. It will be so fun to look back on these. I hope for you sake there is less grouding too:)
